TRINITYWOMEN: News You Can Use June 2016 - Look and Be Amazed
Greetings, sisters of TrinityLife! With a very rainy spring (hopefully) behind us, many will join me in enjoying June as a month of sunshine, beach days, vacations, cook-outs, family reunions, and all that we personally associate with summer.
As we prepare to enjoy these seasonal gifts from our good God, words from Pastor George’s current sermon series based on Habakkuk are stuck in my mind: “Good times are not normal.” In the first chapter of Habakkuk, the prophet mourns the state of the world and a seemingly “absent” God. How true is this state of mind, at least on occasion, for us? We don’t have to look far in this world to be discouraged by current world events, or even personal ones. But the Lord was not absent in Habakkuk’s day nor is He now, as He declared “Look around at the nations, look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day that you wouldn’t believe, even if someone told you about it.” (Habakkuk 1:5, NLT)
So ladies, dig those toes into the sand. Breathe in the warm air. Hug your family. Hard times can be around any corner, but rejoice because our Holy Father is closer!
